Feels good, doesn’t it? Sometimes the hardest part of being a mother (with bumps or with babies) is carving out time for yourself to reconnect, revive and simply rest. Rest & Renew Yoga is all about self care. Our restorative yoga class is designed for mamas in the early stages of pregnancy AND those who have had their babies, be it 6 weeks or 6 years ago. It’s a slow-paced and relaxing class that features restorative stretches, long-hold poses, cleansing breath exercises and dedicated mindfulness practices by late evening candlelight. Expect a lot of time resting on a bolster, releasing tension in your body and enjoying a peaceful (and quiet) space to have a ‘time out’.

By relaxing the muscles, lowering the heart rate and resting the nervous system, you can help fight fatigue, illness, injury, restlessness, stress and anxiety of everyday life. The practice of this slow paced yoga helps to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is known as the rest-and-digest mode (which busy mamas need to focus on). It is important to have balance with anything in life, as we know from the Yin and Yang. Restorative Yoga is the yin (calm, peaceful, relaxed) to the yang (power, intense, energy). Overall, we need both practices in our life to remain healthy and in harmony.

Hello beautiful souls! My name is Shae Savage.

I have been in the rehabilitation industry for 7+ years working with a variety of clients such as insurance claims, workplace claims, athletic injuries, mental health, specialized populations including pregnancy, pre and post surgical, as well as acquired brain injuries.

Further, in 2014, I did my 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training locally in South Surrey, BC where I then completed my training. Additionally, I have completed 85hrs of Kundalini certifications with Sempervivia Yoga, 85hr Prenatal Yoga Training with La Lupa Via Wellness and 25hr Prenatal Yoga Training with Lori Lucas. Lastly, I acquired my 500 hour Pranayama Teacher Training with Pranayama Sadhana.

In my teachings, I create a fusion between my rehabilitation experience and yogic postures/philosophy to empower, and support you on your journey. As a result, I use techniques from earth medicine practices, somatic healing and rewilding principles for an awakening into the divine. Through these conscious movements, you are able to create a deeper connection to the medicine that already exists within you.
