Prenatal Yoga

Hello beautiful mamas! Kukoon Yoga offers unique Prenatal Yoga classes in Port Moody, BC! The classes are designed to help prepare you for labour, birth and beyond, while connecting you with baby! Conscious breathing and supported physical movement are at the core of each class.

Deceptively powerful, delightfully supportive and down-right fun, our Prenatal Yoga class helps mamas release inhibition and enhance intuition through subtle guidance of the body’s energy. In class, we cycle through gentle poses that allow you to connect with your body, with your baby and with other mamas. We also often use props, such as bolsters and blocks, to provide the support necessary for your body during all the stages of pregnancy.

We now host three weekly Prenatal Yoga classes for you to enjoy. See below.

 

Tuesdays from 7:30pm – 8:30pm

Thursdays from 7:30pm – 8:30pm

Sundays from 12:30pm – 1:30pm

Your ‘yoga chaperone’ for Tuesdays

Hello everyone. First off, congratulations on your pregnancy! What a very special time in your life. I am honoured to share in this journey with you.

In my classes I endeavour to support, guide, and teach you to feel this same sense of peacefulness in your own body.

As women, we often put our own self-care at the bottom of our priority list. My classes intend to provide you with the opportunity to come home to yourself through movement, breath-work and meditation. When you attend, you can expect intentional and creative yoga flows that support gentle opening and overall body/spirit strengthening.

I have been teaching yoga for over five years. My background is in traditional Hatha Yoga. In addition, I have studied Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Kids Yoga, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, and Prenatal Yoga. I am also a middle school teacher in the Coquitlam School District. When I am not practicing yoga, I enjoy being outdoors with my family, exploring creative and nutritious recipes in my kitchen and reading a good book. I am delighted to be able to support you during your pregnancy. Thank you for trusting me to guide you and those little lights inside of you.

Your ‘yoga chaperone’ for Thursdays

Hello, I’m Salina. I am a wife, mother, doula, yoga teacher and lover of all things sweet!

I’ve been practicing yoga for over a decade. After the birth of my daughter, decided to pursue my passion for teaching it. I am passionate about making connections…uniting the mind, the body and the breath.

Yoga stole my heart and we are now beyond ‘the point of no return’. Yoga is therapy, it is gratitude, love, family, and connection.

I received my 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training certification in September 2012 and completed my 80 hours Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training while pregnant with my son in 2013. In 2015, I received my Rainbow Kids Yoga Training certificate in hopes of bringing yoga to the kiddos in my life in a fun and interactive way.

My personal journey practicing yoga, through studying and teaching, has led me to develop specialized yoga programs for kids, families, athletes, birthday parties, and yoga for pregnant women.

As a yoga teacher, I am committed to teaching you how to practice yoga in a way that connects you to your body, mind and spirit. My classes always provide a safe and fun environment to experiment, play with movement and challenge yourself. I greatly enjoy getting to know my students! I look forward to meeting you one day soon.

Your ‘yoga chaperone’ for Sundays

Hello beautiful souls! My name is Shae Savage. I am a Kinesiologist by trade and also consider myself an Intuitive & Creative Movement Therapist. Intrigued?

I have been in the rehabilitation industry for 7+ years working with a variety of clients such as insurance claims, workplace claims, athletic injuries, mental health, specialized populations including pregnancy, pre and post surgical as well as acquired brain injuries.

In 2014, I did my 200 Yoga Teacher Training locally in South Surrey, BC, where I then completed my training. Other certifications I hold are 85hrs of Kundalini with Sempervivia Yoga, 85hr Prenatal Yoga Training with La Lupa Via Wellness and 25hr Prenatal Yoga Training with Lori Lucas. Lastly, I also acquired my 500 hour Pranayama Teacher Training with Pranayama Sadhana.

In my teachings, I create a fusion between my rehabilitation experience and yogic postures/philosophy to empower, and support you on your journey.

I use techniques from earth medicine practices, somatic healing and rewilding principles for an awakening into the divine. Additionally, through conscious movements you are able to create a deeper connection to the medicine that already exists within you.
